| Every February 26th at the Daigo Temple in Kyoto, Japan, the popular Godairiki (Five Great Strengths) Festival is held. The gentleman in the orange robe who is humbling himself before entering was carried to these steps on a palanquin. As a head priest of the temple, he will lead in the ceremonies to come. The Kondo, lit. Golden Hall, is about six hundred years old and contains important Buddhist sculpture and relics. |
