| The Kibune shrine is famous for its water. These steps lead to a spring still thought to be pure and delicious. One can drink one's fill, purchase containers to carry some home for making tea, and make offerings to the Shinto spirits. Given the many-century age of the shrine at the top, it might seem incongruous that these steps are made with cement, but convenience wins. |
